VISIT BY THE AMBASSADOR OF AZERBAIJAN TO KENYA

On 28 May 2025, we had the honour of hosting His Excellency Sultan Hajiyev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kenya, at our headquarters in Karen where he was received by the Director, Brigadier Joyce Sitienei.

During the visit, we held productive discussions on potential areas of collaboration, with a focus on supporting Azerbaijan through training in humanitarian Demining.
Our Director, Brigadier Sitienei, highlighted our extensive experience in this critical field, tracing back to the early 2000s with the establishment of the Humanitarian Peace Support School. At that time, the school was instrumental in preparing deminers to support the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE).

Ambassador Hajiyev commended the Centre for its exemplary contributions to peace and security and expressed a strong interest in forging future partnerships.
This visit lays a strong foundation for deeper cooperation in advancing humanitarian efforts globally.
