UNITED NATIONS POLICE ADVISOR VISITS UN POLICE COMMANDERS COURSE PARTICIPANTS

The United Nations (UN) Police Adviser, Police Commissioner Faisal Shahkar visited participants of the UN Police Commanders Course at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC). During his visit, he engaged with the participants, emphasizing the significance of the course in shaping effective peacekeepers. He underscored the critical role of the three core componentsβ€”military, police, and civilian personnelβ€”working together in harmony to achieve shared objectives in peace operations. He also expressed his gratitude to the Government of Kenya and IPSTC for their unwavering support in facilitating the course, highlighting the vital role that partnerships play in strengthening global peacekeeping efforts.

In his address, Police Commissioner Shahkar stressed that the evolving nature of global peacekeeping demands skilled and collaborative leaders. He commended the course for equipping police officers with the essential leadership, strategic planning, and crisis management skills required in complex environments.
